We collect only what we need to keep the club private, verified, and safe — and we never sell your data. Last updated June 17, 2026.
Account details (email, display name, date of birth), profile information you choose to share (bio, photos, city, interests, boundaries), age- and photo-verification images, RSVP and event activity, in-app messages, approximate location if you opt in to the live map, payment metadata from our processor (we never store your full card number), device and log data, and any communication you send us.
To verify your age and identity, operate Discover and the events system, deliver mutual-interest chat, process membership payments, run referral rewards, send transactional and safety emails, prevent fraud and abuse, enforce our community guidelines, and comply with legal obligations. We do not sell your personal data and we do not use your profile or messages to train third-party AI models.
Verification photos are stored in a private, access-controlled bucket and viewed only by trained moderators to confirm age and identity. They are not shown in your public profile. You may request deletion of verification photos after approval, subject to legal record-keeping requirements for age verification.
We use strictly necessary cookies to keep you signed in and to remember preferences. We use privacy-respecting analytics to understand aggregate product usage. We do not run advertising trackers and we do not share your activity with ad networks.
We share data only with the processors required to run the service: our hosting and database provider, our payment processor (for billing), our email provider (for transactional mail), and our image/storage provider. Each processor is bound by contract to handle your data confidentially. We may disclose information when required by law, valid legal process, or to protect the safety of our members.
Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and at rest. Access to member data is restricted to authorized staff on a need-to-know basis and logged. Row-level security is enforced at the database layer so members can only access their own data and content explicitly shared with them. No system is perfectly secure — please use a strong, unique password and enable any additional protections we offer.
You can view and edit your profile at any time, hide or pause your account, block or report other members, and delete your account from Settings. Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to access, correct, port, restrict, or delete your personal data, and to object to certain processing (GDPR/UK GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, and similar laws). To exercise these rights, email contact@thevelvetclub.life. We respond within 30 days.
The Velvet Club is strictly 18+ (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, whichever is higher). We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If we learn that an underage user has registered, we remove the account immediately and delete the associated data.
The Velvet Club is operated from the United States and your information may be processed in countries other than your own. We retain account data while your account is active and for a limited period afterward to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and prevent abuse. Verification records may be retained for the period required by applicable age-verification and record-keeping laws.
